Years ago my mom and I took the kids out for lunch and our oldest daughter (Miss Allie) then four years old, threw up across the table in perfect view of a guy eating his lunch. I mean she completely blew chunks. I thought the guy was going to loose it. Kids are so fun!

I know they are “just kids” - but you can’t blame people for wanting to have a nice meal without your children running all around. I have a 7 year old son and I set the ground rules for behavior in public when he was a toddler. It’s not that difficult - if you let them know you won’t put up with their shenanigans, they learn to behave. I see so many parents who think it’s cool to just let their kids be as loud as they want and bother other diners, running all over the restaurant and crawling on the furniture, and darting back and forth across the aisles. They just act like nothing is wrong and go on about their meal while refusing to control or parent the little tykes, then they act like you are just a big old meanie if you don’t want a 4 year old staring at you over the back of the booth for your entire meal, or if you wince when they let their toddler shreik incessantly at the top of her lungs for 45 minutes. Hey, just because you can blithely drown that out doesn’t mean the rest of us can.
If kids can’t sit at a table and keep it to a dull roar for the duration of a meal then you have no business taking them anywhere but McDonalds and Chuck E cheese.
